Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence-based treatment which has demonstrated meaningful change for many people. It is a more structured treatment to explore the interactions between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
DBT skills are useful across concerns to learn how to manage painful and intense emotions, as well as be more effective in relationships. I incorporate these skills to help people cope with distress and work towards a valued life.
At this time I am unable to offer full service DBT as I do not offer phone coaching or groups. If you are interested in receiving full service DBT please let me know and I can offer program referrals.
Culturally Informed Therapy
I believe in welcoming everyone to therapy no matter their background.
I support individuals of all ethic and racial backgrounds, countries of origin, gender identity, gender presentations, sexual orientations, age, ability status, relationship orientations, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
My Approach
My goal is always for therapy to feel affirming and empowering.
We'll start by getting to know each other and figure out what is most important for you to work on. From there we'll collaboratively develop a treatment plan to more sure you are moving towards your goals. We'll use the strengths you already have, and build upon those strengths so that you can thrive. In session, we may plan small ways to make changes or set goals to accomplish before the next session. When we next meet, we'll talk about what went well, and what may have gotten in the way of accomplishing those goals.
I create a warm, trusting, supportive environment to explore without judgement.
